Dean Stanley “Beak” Jameson

Dean Stanley “Beak” Jameson, 80 years of age, Lincoln, passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2011. He was born April 16, 1931 in Arnold, NE to John Henry and Lillian (Erickson) Jameson. He was a graduate of Arnold High School in 1949 and the University of Nebraska in 1953. Dean served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He married Jane Carpender on August 5, 1958 in Lincoln, NE. Dean and Jane lived in Bassett where they owned Jameson’s Dry Goods store and owned the Jameson Ranch. They returned to Lincoln and Dean worked as a salesman for the Friden Company (business machines), and then owned and operated “The Rainmaker Sprinkler Company” until retiring. Member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity; member of the Custer Masonic Lodge #148 in Arnold, NE. Beak enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family.

Dean is survived by his wife, Jane Carpender Jameson of Lincoln; daughters, Suzy and Jim Sullivan of South Weymouth, Massachusetts; Dr. Mary Liz and Dr. Leland Russell of Wichita, Kansas; and son, Jeffrey and Amy Jameson of Aspen, Colorado; granddaughter Kelsey Jameson Sullivan of South Weymouth, Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Lou Ricker, and a brother in infancy.

Cremation/no visitation.

A family memorial gathering will be held at a later date in Bassett, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
