Ivan Newton Burgan age 74 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Lancaster Manor. He was born on June 8, 1937 in Johnstown, Nebraska to Ray and Susan (Freeman) Burgan. Ivan married Mary Jane Channel in 1972. He had worked at the Lincoln Regional Center in the kitchen and dining room. Ivan enjoyed walking, bike riding, visiting with friends at the Senior Center, food and music.
Ivan is survived by his wife, Mary Jane of Lincoln; sisters, Lottie Harris of Colorado; Esther Greunke of Fremont; Exa Morehouse; brothers, Ray Burgan of Lincoln; Louis Burgan of Fremont; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother George.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery.
Dear Mary Jane,
I was so sorry to read of Ivan’s death in the newspaper. I remember when Ivan would come to the Manor and you two would either walk or ride your bikes home from work. Ivan will be missed.
