Donald Earl Young age 93 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 in Lincoln.  He was born on September 30, 1918 in Phillips County Kansas to Earl James and Mabel (Larson) Young.  Donald married Ardys Williams on November 30, 1940 in Imperial, Nebraska.  He worked as a foreman at Sunglow Dairy in Holdrege and for 20 years as a dairy inspector for the State of Nebraska.  He was a member of the Second Baptist Church. 

Donald is survived by his wife, Ardys of Lincoln; daughters and son-in-laws, Carol and Harley Nelson of Lincoln; Shirley and John Horstman of Lincoln; Beverly and Keith Ludden of Augusta, Maine; grandchildren, Connie Nelson of Lake Havasu, Arizona; Cindy and Jason Richard of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Jeff and Kristy Horstman of Lincoln; Pamela and Matt Brigham of Seattle, Washington; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Rachel, Korey, Kelsey, Karsen, Kamden, Kasten; great-great-grandson, Mason; sister, Doris Patterson of Republican City, Nebraska.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Helen Shriner and a grandson, John Nelson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with family receiving friends from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. 

The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2o11 at 10:00 A.M. at the Second Baptist Church, 525 N. 58th Street, Lincoln with Pastor Stephen Wisthoff officiating.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Second Baptist Church.

Robert Eugene “Rob” Michaud age 55 of Denton, Nebraska passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011.  Rob was born on leap day, Febrary 29, 1956 in Superior, Nebraska.  He would have celebrated his “14th” birthday next year.  He graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School where he was active in sports.  He played football at Peru State University.  Rob worked for Kawasaki, EX-Mark, Molex and MBA Smart Chicken as a quality assurance technician.  He was currently employed by Emerald Express in Lincoln.  Rob’s passion for open land developed on the Lewis family farm in Bostwick, Nebraska.  He purchased an acreage in Denton to recreate this love.  He raised German Shorthairs and Boxers and was an avid upland gamebird hunter.  He spent a lot of time helping at the Michaud house and gave his support to many others in their time of need.  He attended Lincoln Berean Church.

Rob was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy.  Survivors include his father, Bobbie of Lincoln.  Brothers and Sisters-in-law:  Garald and Yvonne Michaud of Mt. Hope, Kansas, James and Iris Michaud of Anchorage, Alaska, Mark and Lois Michaud of Lincoln, Brian and Terri Michaud of Lincoln.  Many nieces, nephews, great nephews and a multitude of extended family and friends.

A memorial service for Rob will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 10:00 A.M.  In honor of Rob’s casual nature we are asking guests to dress casually.

Bellva Marie Van Vranken age 103 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Tabitha Nursing Home.  She was born on January 14, 1908 in Shelbyville, Indiana to Will and Ethel Mae (Dawson) Smith.

Cremation/no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Burial will be in Jefferson, Texas.

Norman Duane Sallenbach age 82 of Wahoo, Nebraska died on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Wahoo.  He was born on October 20, 1928 in Milford, Nebraska to Herbert and Clara (George) Sallenbach.  He married Hollie Jean Craig on August 3, 1951 in Lincoln.  Norman farmed until 1968 and then worked in public relations with Swanson Vending for 18 years. 

Norman is survived by his wife Hollie of Mission, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Traci Sallenbach of Wahoo; son, Scott Sallenbach of Omaha; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Pat Clausen of Omaha; daughter, Julie Bernady of Omaha; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Dawson of Arizona.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don.

Cremation/no visitation.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home with Pastor Tamara Holtz officiating.

Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery.

Marjorie Jane Shonerd age 78 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Milder Manor in Lincoln.  She was born on November 6, 1932 in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Clarence and Ola (Mitchell) Taylor.   Marjorie married Robert Shonerd on December 19, 1953 in Lincoln.  She worked as a clerk at Ben Franklin for many years.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Douglas Shonerd of Lincoln; son, Danny Shonerd of Atwater, MN; daughter, Debra Calapan of Lincoln; grandchildren, Tara Shonerd of Atwater, MN; Sean Shonerd of Atwater, MN; Melanie Readenour of Wahoo, NE; great-grandchildren, Shaelynn, Brianna, Kyra; brother, Carrell Lee Taylor of Joplin, MO; sister, Mary Jo Becker of Osceola, NE.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Shonerd; sister, Betty; son-in-law, Warren Calapan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with family receiving friends from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery.
