D. Stephen “Steve” McCloskey

D. Stephen “Steve” McCloskey, born on January 28, 1947 in Indianapolis, died November 5, 2011 in Omaha at the Josie Harper Hospice House. He is survived by sisters Lois Ann Gallmeyer of Albuquerque, NM and Mariel Reynolds of Indianapolis, IN as well as many nephews, nieces & cousins.  Steve lived in Lincoln many years and was a long-time employee of the Tefft Car Care Center at 70th & Van Dorn.  His amazing customer service made him a friend to many people.  He was a life-long model train collector and a supporter of the Indiana Transportation Museum.  Steve was the loving caretaker of his aunt, Lois Tefft, who preceded him in death by only 2 months.  Memorials to the Indiana Transportation Museum, PO Box 83; Noblesville, IN 46061-0083.  A memorial service will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:00 A.M.  Burial will be at Wyuka Cemetery following the memorial service.

  1. I remember Steve as a fellow classmate at Arlington High School in Indianapolis. It is sad to hear of his passing but bittersweet as I know he is in a better place and no longer suffering from that which afflicted him. His name will be added to the memorial page of the class website arlington65.org
