Evelyn Mae Hindmarsh

Evelyn Mae Hindmarsh (Kaspar), 89, Lincoln, Pleasant Dale, Nebraska died peacefully September 14, 2012 at Bryan LGH East.  She was a resident of Tabitha GracePointe, and Goodhouse prior to being admitted to Bryan Hospital. Evelyn was born on September 24, 1922 to James and Louise (Petrus) Kaspar in Malmo, Nebraska. Evelyn graduated from Prague High School before working as a teacher and then at Union Pacific Railroad.

Evelyn was married to Glen E. Hindmarsh for 54 years and during Glen’s time serving in the United Stated Air Force they spent time in Germany and were stationed at several Air Force Bases stateside before Glen retired at Bergstrom AFB in Austin Texas in 1968. They enjoyed traveling and attended many of Glen’s WWII 555th Squadron Army reunions across the country.   After retirement she opened up their home caring for many neighborhood children while running an after school program. She always referred to the children she watched as her kids. She was involved in all her boys’ activities that included Scouting, School PTO, and various sporting events.  Family was very important to her and one of her greatest joys was organizing the annual Kaspar and Sedlacek Family reunions which were usually held in Prague or Wahoo Nebraska.

Evelyn was a dedicated church parishioner and community volunteer. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Havelock and attended faithfully until her move to Tabitha where she attended service these last few years.  She also served countless hours assisting the residents at Village Manor in Lincoln.

Survivors: Sons, George Ronald Hindmarsh, Monument, Colorado, Glen Christopher Hindmarsh, Pflugerville, Texas, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Jean Nicholson, Lincoln, Nebraska. She was in death by: husband, Glen; parents; brother, James of Prague.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with family receiving friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home with Father Troy Schweiger officiating.

Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

  1. I would like to express my deepest sympathy in the loss of Evelyn. Evelyn was our neighbor when we lived in the country. She was quite a lady. We visited her even after we moved away and would exchange Christmas cards. Evelyn was a WONDERFUL lady and will be dearly missed.
