Wyuka Stables, a part of Wyuka Funeral Home & Cemetery, recently went through a complete restoration with some modern updates added. This project was made possible through funds provided by the Nebraska Department of Roads Enhancement Program and the Federal Highway Administration along with private donations raised by Wyuka Foundation. The project was recognized with the President’s award by the Preservation Association of Lincoln annual meeting in March.
Wyuka Stables was originally built in 1909 and used for housing horses and casket wagons and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places along with the Cemetery. This newly renovated place with modern amenities will be an excellent venue to hold your next event, retreat, reunion, weddings or just a meeting place. There are two rooms for meeting that can accommodate 60 people each, one with a small kitchen and modern restrooms in addition there is a large open courtyard for extra space part of it fully covered.
3600 O Street (just to the north of the Funeral Home)
Our new website WyukaStables.com should be up and running April 15th or 16th with lots of information about renting the Stables and its historic past.
