Hazel I. Gillispie

Gillispie obit photoHazel Ilene Fetterley Gillispie, age 87 of Lincoln, passed away June 11, 2015.  She was born Dec. 4, 1927 to Leroy and Edna Lee Brown Fetterley in College View, Lincoln.  She wed Robert Leslie Gillispie in May 1945 and was blessed with seven children; as a couple they traveled extensively in their early marriage.  She remained in good health into her 80’s.

Hazel owned and operated Hiway 77 Café in Ceresco; her passion in life was the love she had for family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Milton; sister-in-law, Judy Fetterley; granddaughter, Tonya Marie Kermmoade; and great grandson Tony Lee Watson.

Survived by her children, Marge (Kent) Watson of Lincoln, NE, Terry (Marlyn) Gillispie of Crete, Mary Ann Taylor of Florida, John Gillispie of Lincoln, Robin Hill of Waverly, Kathy (Joe) Nannen of Sprague, and Robert Leslie (Jolynn) Gillispie II of Lincoln; brother, Wayne “Carolyn” Fetterley; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thurs. June 18, 2015 at Wyuka Cemetery, 3600 “O” St., Lincoln with Pastor Marty Thurber officiating. A Reception following in Wyuka’s Garden Room.  Condolences at www.wyuka.com; Memorials to Aging Partners, 1005 “O” St, Lincoln, NE,68508.
