Larry Smith 96, of Lincoln, passed away on December 21, 2015. He was born on July 31, 1919 in Octavia, Nebraska to Henry and Antoinette Smith. Larry graduated from the University of Nebraska pharmacy college in 1937 and served in the Army during WWII. Larry returned to Lincoln after the war where he owned a pharmacy at various locations in the city for 35 years. During his career he was a member of the Nebraska Pharmaceutical Association and served two years as president. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Risen Christ and was an avid golfer.
Preceded in death by his wife Lorene, Larry leaves behind a son, Michael “Mike” Smith and daughter in law Debbie Smith, a granddaughter Erin and a great granddaughter Michaella.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Wyuka Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday, December 28th from Noon until 8:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Wyuka Cemetery.

I had the privilege of knowing Larry for several years and he was a true gentleman and will be missed. Our pharmacy was located at 33rd & A several years after Larry had sold his store there. Our love to Mike & family. Bill Tooley & Family
Mike and Family, I was saddened to see that your father had passed. He was such a wonderful man. It was a pleasure to get to work with him. I will always remember his drive and sense of humor. I grew up next door to Larry (on Meadowbrook Lane). I spent many summer evenings as a kid with him sitting outside by his front door having our infamous “Peanut Parties”—if he was out front after supper I would go running over with a jar of peanuts and he would provide the “giggle juice” (aka Pop) and we would sit and talk & snack. Well, mostly I would talk and he would listen! This is one of my favorite childhood memories and was recently sharing it with my own daughters. So sorry to hear he has passed away, but so grateful that he had 96 years and that he spent some of that time with me, the little girl who lived next door.
