Charles Barker “Chick” Linke

Linke, Charles obit photoCharles Barker “Chick” Linke, 82, of Lincoln died Feb. 24, 2016. Born June 16, 1933 in Bassett, to Karl and Viola (Barker) Linke.  US Army veteran; retired insurance executive; graduate of Neb. Wesleyan University; and former member of Sertoma Club of Lincoln.

Survivors include his wife Lavonne; children, Lori (Jeff) Patterson, Doug Linke, and Scott Linke; grand daughters, Nicole (Roy) Gibbons, Erica Linke and Chelsea Patterson; great grandsons, Grayson and Kyler Gibbons; and sister Frances Walkes.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am, Monday, Feb. 29, at First United Methodist Church, 2723 N. 50th St., Lincoln.  Burial to follow with Military Honors in Wyuka Cemetery, 3600 “O” St., Lincoln.  A Visitation will be held from 6 – 8:00 pm, Sunday, Feb. 28, at Wyuka Funeral Home.  Memorials to the family for future designation.  Condolences at www.wyuka.com

  1. So sorry to hear this. Have wonderful memories of Chick, love the sound of his laugh. That is a great pic of him. Countless hours were spent in the Linke home growing up, many stories to tell again. Chick taught us pinochle. Tacos for birthdays, skate boarding, large snow banks, trip to KC in the Chevette, talking in R’s, and many more. My sympathies to the family.
