Stanley C. Keller

August 1, 2016

SKM_C284e16080113240_0001-001Stanley Clarence Keller passed away Sunday morning July 31, 2016 at the age of 64. He was ready to join his parents after an 18 month bout with brain cancer. He passed away peaceful with 4 of his children (Amanda, Becky, Jessica and Daniel) at his side at the Monarch Hospice Facility on 78th and Pioneers. He was born on Dec. 4, 1951 in Seward County to Clarence and Norma (Hackbart) Keller. Stan graduated from Milford High School in 1970 and attended the Carpenter program at Southeast Community College in Milford and graduated in Dec. of 1971.

Stan grew up on a small farm near Milford, Neb. until his dad Clarence passed away in 1970 of cancer. Stan loved the farm; farming, playing kick the can, cowboys and indians, 4th of July fireworks, playing high-five, endless hours on the Big Blue River and 18 acre lake and playing with all their dogs. He had to make a decision if he wanted to farm or go into another business on his own, remodeling homes? He chose the latter in which he was highly regarded and a perfectionist in his profession. You had to book his services normally 6-9 months out. He did remodeling jobs for Warren Buffet and Larry the Cable Guy to name several. He sub-contracted for Lincoln Cabinet for almost 20 years.

Stan married and is survived by his wife Peggy Briney Keller on December 15th, 1978 and raised 6 children who survive him. Eric Keller of Lincoln, Melissa Zerfass (Robbie) of Washington, Amanda Keller of Lincoln, Rebecca (Becky) Keller of Lincoln, Daniel Keller of Lincoln and Jessica Allen (Nicholas) of Lincoln.

Stan is also survived by his Sister Sandra Guerin (Rex) of Hermitage MO, Brother Kevin Keller (Beverlee) of Lincoln, Sisters-in-laws; Mary Dickey of Lincoln, Brenda Medley of Crete, Diane Glass-Burks of Ok, Susan Pavey and Brother-in-law, Charles Briney of SD.

Stan loved his work, his children and his grandchildren; Kaylee Keller, Breckin Womochil, Caiden Zerfass, Harmony Zerfass, Sami Keller, Rhyland Allen and Andrece Allen. He would do anything for his children and grandchildren which showed in his daily life. He would work 6-7 days a week putting in 10-12 hours each day, come home and cook dinner for the kids, take them to the park, play games, build tree houses, teach them how to ride bikes and drive to just name a few. All his children and grandchildren brought him great joy and happiness.

A Family Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 pm on Friday Aug 5th at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street Lincoln, Neb. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am at Wyuka on Sat Aug 6th. Stan will be cremated and his ashes divided and made into jewelry for the children and grandchildren and the remaining ashes will be spread on the old homestead. Memorials will be the family choice but the majority will go to the Monarch Hospice Center at 78th and Pioneers and Cancer Research.

Cancer sucks; it has taken Stan’s life, his Dad’s life and his Grandpa and Grandma Keller’s lives.

“I wish cancer would get cancer and go kill itself.” Amanda Keller
