Cao Hanh Thi Nguyen

NguyenCao Hanh Thi Nguyen, age 92, of Lincoln, died March 22, 2017 at home surrounded by family. She was born in Vietnam on Nov. 11, 1924.

She is survived by her daughter, Thanh Van Thi Nguyen; son in law, Hy Chiem Tran; granddaughter, Van Huong Thanh Tran; grandson, Hy Van Dan Tran; and sister, Odette Bui and family.

A Buddhist Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Sat. March 25, 2017 and from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 26th at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” St., Lincoln, NE. Family prayers will take place at Wyuka on Mon., March 27 at 11:00 a.m. directly before laying her to rest.  Condolences at www.wyuka.com

Charlie F. Anderson

FlagCharlie Fred Anderson age 92 of Lincoln passed away March 13, 2017 at Waterford Assisted Living.  He was born December 16, 1924 in Milford to Ole and Anna (Plessel) Anderson.  As a young boy Charlie attended Milford Public School graduating with the class of 1942.  Charlie and his brothers sang gospel and other types of music for many churches and events.  Their group name was Pioneer Midget Quartet.  He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943 and served in Australia, New Guinea, Layte Phillipines, Luzon Phillipines and Japan.  He served in WWII as a Corporal.  After his discharge in 1946, Charlie returned to Milford where he was employed at the Milford Review.  He belonged to Legion Post #0171 and V.F.W. #9775.  Charlie married Beverly Cook on April 13, 1951 and lived in Seward where he worked for the Seward Independent.  He retired from Christensens Printing in Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Kay Anderson; wife Beverly Anderson; brothers, Alfred, Andrew, Alvin and Harry Anderson.  Sisters Edith Jantzi, Mabel Hoge and Hanna Allison.  Charlie is survived his daughters and son-in-law, Karen Hoffman of Milford, Janice and Mark Roth of North Platte.   Son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Karma Anderson of Friend.  Eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great, great grandson.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Blue Mound Cemetery in Milford.

 

Gray, MichaelSherman Michael Terry Gray age 64 of Lincoln passed away March 9, 2017 in Omaha.  He was born June 15, 1952 in Carthage, Mississippi to Oscar and Clementine (Stewart) Gray.  Michael worked for Region V services as a rehabilitation coach/counselor.  He enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps in 1971 and was honorably discharged in 1973.

Survivors include his wife, Timolyn (Long) Gray of Lincoln, daughters Shontelle Davis of Milwaukee and Jzah-Nevah McWilliams Gray of Lincoln.  Son Michael E. Bully of Omaha.  Sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherrie and Ernest Hamilton of Bolingbrook, Illinois; Anita and James Hall of Milwaukee; Patricia Gray of Milwaukee.  Brothers and sister-in-law, Sylvester and Yvonne Gray of Los Angeles and William Gray of Denver.  Grandchildren, Lee, Queenia, Deja and Cameron.  Nieces, nephews and cousins.  Preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Stewart Gray.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Quinn Chapel AME, 1225 S. 9th Street, Lincoln.

Family requests memorials instead of floral arrangements that may be mailed in care of the family to Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 O Street, Lincoln, NE.  68510

Interment of ashes will be at Wyuka Cemetery.
