Veteran Service How one chooses to commemorate a loved one is a personal decision. The type of service chosen varies with each family, but one thing is constant: a service provides a focal point for remembering the deceased at the time of death and provides emotional value into the future. A Veteran Service is truly a moving experience to honor a loved one who served their Country. A Veterans service can be combined with any other type of service chosen. This part of the service is handled at the burial site. Whether a veteran choses a traditional burial with a casket or cremation with a memorial service, Military Honors can be adjusted to fit any type of service chosen. The veteran will either have a flag draped casket or a triangle folded flag to complement a cremation urn. A military honor detail will act as the pallbearers from the hearse to the interment site, perform a flag folding and presentation to the next of kin, and perform the playing of Taps and Firing of the Vollies. This type of service can be performed by a local American Legion Post or Veterans of Foreign Wars Organization that the veteran was a member of or an Official Branch of the United States Armed Forces |
