Katherine M. Dolan

Katherine M. Dolan, 97, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024. Born in Tullahoma, Tennessee, to Henry and Sara (Bowles) Moore, Katherine was the embodiment of warmth, dedication, and faith. Her life was marked by love for her family, a strong work ethic.
Katherine married the love of her life, Joseph Dolan, on June 10, 1946, in Decatur, Alabama. Together, they started their life farming near Stapleton, Nebraska, and in 1959, they moved to Lincoln, where they raised their family. Katherine dedicated her early years to being a loving wife and mother, and later, she worked in the Agronomy Lab at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where her meticulous work ethic shone.
Her warmth and kindness touched all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her steadfast love, generosity, and the joy she brought to her family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Pat Lovelace of Lincoln; Shannon (Pat) Neill of Lincoln; Jean (Jim) Reeder of Windsor, CO; and Mike (Amy) Dolan of St. Paul, MN. She leaves behind her ten beloved grandchildren: Matt (Aimee Eicher) Stefkovich, Tom (Cassandra) Stefkovich, Brett (Jeannine) Reeder, Angie Finke, Katie (Ben) Navratil, Susie Finke, Reid Neill, Abby Neill, Ben Dolan, and Jaxson Finke; as well as her five cherished great-grandchildren: Sidney Stefkovich, Isaac Stefkovich, Violet Stefkovich, Ellah Reiss, and Josie Finke. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Grant of Fleming Island, FL; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Moore of Las Cruces, NM; son-in-law, Doug Finke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph Dolan, daughter Mary Finke, son-in-law James Lovelace, and brothers William Moore and Thomas Moore.
Services:
- Visitation with family: Thursday, September 19, 5:00 p.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln
- Rosary: Thursday, September 19, 7:00 p.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home
- Funeral Mass: Friday, September 20, 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church
- Burial: Following the Mass at Fairview Cemetery, 84th and Adams, Lincoln
- Luncheon: Noon at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Katherine’s memory.
Katherine was an amazing woman and I enjoyed caring for her over the last seven years. She will be deeply missed by all of us that cared for her. She touched so many of us over the years in many ways. Love and hugs to the family.
