Alice M. Rathbun

Rathbun, AliceAlice M. Rathbun age 98 of Lincoln, passed away July 9, 2017.  She was born September 15, 1918 in Columbus, Nebraska to Leo and Lillian (Platte) Woerth.  Alice was an avid bowler and at the age of 72, rolled a 236.  She was also active in the Eagles Auxiliary and TOPS.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Nikki Rathbun of Lincoln.  Daughters and sons-in-law, Sue Rathbun and Gary Huff of Des Moines, Iowa; Lee and Del Meyer of Fremont, Nebraska.  Grandchildren, Ryan Rathbun, Anthony Jacobsen, Christopher Huff, Nicholas Huff, Shayla Bushhousen and Shannan Page.  8 Great grandchildren.  Brothers and sister-in-law, Joe Woerth of Bellevue, John and Barbara Woerth of Columbus.  Sisters-in-law, Stella Woerth of Lincoln and Patty Woerth of Shenandoah, Iowa.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Rathbun, her parents, sister, Lillian.  Brothers, Leo, Max, Fred, Charles and Valentine.

Rosary service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Cathedral of the Risen Christ.

Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30 P.M. at Cathedral of the Risen Christ.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 13th at Cathedral of the Risen Christ.

Memorials to the Cathedral of the Risen Christ Altar Society.

  1. With respect for both the Rathbun and Woerth Families:
    Alice and Ivan were such great friends of my parents. They enjoyed dancing at the Eagles and fishing together. Each had a wonderful sense of humor. Certainly they enjoyed life. Our deepest sympathies to your families.

  2. To all of the Rathbun family in the recent loss of your loved one, Alice. You have my sincere and deepest sympathy as you write the final chapter of Ivan and Alice. I was Ivan’s immediate supervisor at the Planning and Design Department of the University, for the last several years before he retired. My prayers are with all of you.
