January 11, 1970 – August 10, 2021

James Lee Knollenberg, passed away at the age of 51 in his home on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021. James, also known by the many people who loved him as “Jim” was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Deanna Faye (Warkow) Knollenberg and William Lee Knollenberg on January 11th, 1970. James attended Randolph Elementary School, Millard Lefler Junior High and graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1988. James was a very hardworking and successful car salesman at his father’s C&B Auto Sales in Lincoln Nebraska for about 30 years.

On June 22nd, 2001, James married Kathy (Danek) Kirchmann and had a son, Jared James in August of 2003. They divorced in 2010, but remained friends. James enjoyed staying home and taking care of his son; and when he wasn’t home, he could be found working out, working on cars, hanging out with friends and family, or working with his dad at C&B Auto Sales. James had a love for cars starting at a very young age and owned many cars during his lifetime. James also loved watching football in the fall, especially his favorite teams, the Oklahoma Sooners and the Indianapolis Colts. James was also known for his willingness and eagerness to help and contribute wherever he could. He spent time volunteering at the People’s City Mission, and loved to make anyone’s day and put a smile on their face. He was a loving, caring, and thoughtful son, brother, father and uncle who was greatly loved and will be missed so very much.

James is survived by his son; Jared James Knollenberg of Fremont; father, William Knollenberg; sister, Catherine (Chuck) Reese; brother, Daniel Knollenberg, all of Lincoln; nephews, Andrew Reese, Garrett Reese, Will Reese and Erik Knollenberg. James was preceded in death by his mother Deanna Knollenberg.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 17th, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 16th from 5-7 p.m. with family present.
