John McKesson, 81, of Lincoln passed away on March 9, 2022, in Waverly. John was born on November 23, 1940, at Hammond, Indiana to Leo and Gertrude “Trudy” McKesson. He attended school at Moody Bible Institute and graduated from Tennessee Temple University. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1962-1966. During his time in the service, John was stationed on the USS Wright which was the predecessor to the Looking glass program. Following his service, he became a disc jockey for a Christian radio station in Virginia and later became a Minister.
A good conversation could always be had with John on any topic, at any time, with anyone! He enjoyed life to the fullest and loved a good joke!
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Robert McKesson and former wives, Vivian Ironfield and Cora Wilson. John is survived by his daughter Rebecca (Larry Howell) McKesson; sister Margaret Logsdon, as well as other family and numerous friends.
Memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 640 N. 56th Street, with Bishop Charles Chamberlain officiating. Interment at Wyuka Cemetery.
