Geraldine Irwin passed away on March 8th, 2023 in Lincoln Nebraska. Geraldine was born in Atkinson, Nebraska on December 6th, 1945, to Leonard and Rose Wedige.
She worked as a dental assistant for Boys Town for many years, where she met and married her husband, Jerry Irwin. She then stayed home and took care of her family for many years. Geraldine enjoyed cooking and baking and was well known for her annual Christmas cookie deliveries. After her retirement she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and attending their many activities. Geraldine was also involved in the Catholic church and volunteered there for many years.
Geraldine is survived by her children Shannon (Eldon) Nyhoff and Kevin (Rebekah) Irwin. Her two favorite Grandchildren Dylan Nyhoff and Madison Irwin. Brother and Sister in-laws; David Irwin; Sandra Jacobsen; and Beth (Bob) Powers; Janice Wedige, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Geraldine is proceeded in death by her husband Jerry Irwin. Her parents Rose and Leonard Wedige, her brother Joe Wedige, and her Grandchildren Zachary and Lylah Irwin.
Geraldine’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Wyuka Funeral Home, Lincoln. Viewing will take place 1 hour prior to the service. Memorials may directed to the family for further designation.
