Susan Anne Brooks

Susan Anne Brooks passed away on September 25, 2023, in Lincoln, NE after a battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children in her home and her loyal dog, Baxter.

Susan loved traveling with family and friends, singing in her church choir, playing cards/games, taking Baxter to the dog park, baking, sewing, and bird watching from her back deck.  She lived a full life and had an amazing circle of friends and family that kept her busy in her retirement years.

Susan is survived by her children: son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jennifer Brooks of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter, Jennifer Brooks of Lincoln, NE, daughter and son-in-law Kristi and Jeff Stinnette of Lincoln, NE; her five grandchildren: Ethan, Owen, Elise, Chase and Devan; her sister, Elaine Exstrom of Lincoln, NE; and brother-in-law Doug Brooks of Denver, CO; sister-in-laws, Annie Carlson of Palm Desert, CA, Marty Carlson of Holdredge, NE.

  1. Jeff, Jenny and Kristi, I am so saddened by your moms death. She was such a good friend to me and so many other people. I still have the “Mason” crocheted was hanging that she made for us when we moved to our Lake Street house. It’s one of my treasures. She was so proud of the three of you and of course, of her grandchildren. She will be sorely missed.

  2. Jeff, Jenny and Kristi,
We are so saddened by your Mom’s passing. Good friends and wonderful memories abound. We first met when Amy and Kristi started preschool together. Many years and countless connections later, we had many memories to treasure. She gave so many gifts to all who knew her. She will be missed❤️

  7. I’m very sad to learn that my long time friend has died. Susan and I met when our one-room schools were consolidated into a two-room school. What fun sleepovers at her house were.
We’ve lived miles apart over the years but I always consider a soul mate.
I know that Jeff, Jen and Kristi and families were her pride and joy. Am thinking of all of you plus Elaine and Marty.
    Love , Analice Decker
