Ernest F. Larkins age 81 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Sunday morning, February 10, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 11, 1931. Ernie married the love of his life Jean D. Imig on September 4, 1951. They had 3 children, Michael C. Larkins of Lincoln, Cheryl Larkins of Malcolm and Steven J. Larkins of Lincoln. 6 Grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 61 years of wedded bliss. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was one of Lincoln’s oldest heating companies, starting in 1959. Ernie is a member of Sesostris Shrine Cushman’s and Hickman Masonic Lodge #256.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Services will be Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 1621 Superior St. Lincoln. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, February 15th from 9:30 A.M. until service time.
Interment with military honors will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery following the service and reception at church.
Memorials may be left to the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital or St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.

Ernie is another of our mentors that has passed and he will be missed by the many that knew him in our industry. He served our industry, our community and most of all our Country well and for that service I am grateful!

We are so sorry about Ernie. He was a wonderful man full of humor & life. Our older children still talk about sitting in front of our livingroom window on 13th street looking across the street into your familyroom at your big screen tv(watching movies without the sound) Its one of their favorite childhood memories.
