Bertha “Eunice” Harwood

Bertha “Eunice” Harwood, age 78, of Seward, formerly of Denton and widow of Donald died July 7, 2013.  She was born September 23, 1934 in Reading, Kansas to Fred Andrew and Karolina Wilhelmina Bertha (Ulrich) Soderstrom.  Her family moved to Missouri in 1942. After she graduated from Metz High School in 1952 she moved to Lincoln, NE.  Bertha and Donald were married in Adrian, MO in 1955.   She began working as a waitress at Burlington Depot.  After that she worked for Eldgens in the watch department, Formfit Rogers in Crete, House of Bowers, Land and Sky, Designers Corner and Pechous Upholstery.  Bertha was a member of the American Legion Auxilary, Post #355 in Denton and the Utah State western riding club.

She is survived by her Children, Donald Jr. and Jean Harwood of Crete; Ronald Harwood of Seward; Carrie Harwood of Lincoln; Sheri Conard of Lincoln and Rex Harwood of Lincoln.  Grandchildren and spouses, Donald III and Bri Harwood of Lincoln; Ashley and Lucas Mitchell of Lincoln; Lindsay Fritz and Spencer Bailey of Lincoln; Alexandria Harwood of Michigan; Jessica Harwood of Montana; Courtney Harwood of Forsyth, Montana and Haleigh Conard of Lincoln.  Great grandchildren, Ayla Harwood and Zym Harwood both of Lincoln; Aria Mitchell who is on the way.  Siblings, Edna Watters of Denver; Violet Fry, Herman Soderstrom both of Lincoln; Herb Soderstrom of Arizona; Gerald Soderstrom of Holstien.  Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law: Betty Matthews of Lincoln; Norman and Charlene Harwood of Utah; Beverly and Ted Blem of Arizona.   Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her parents, brother, Donald Soderstrom; sisters, Freda Hennes, Bernice Hutton and Helen Busboom.  In-laws, Bill Harwood; Dick Harwood; Thelma and Delbert Hall; Fern and Lloyd Marino; Jack and Lila Harwood; Dick Matthews; Ruby and Earl Allen; Jeannie Soderstrom.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel at Wyuka Funeral Home.  Interment of ashes will be at Wyuka Cemetery.  No viewing or visitation.

Memorials may be left to the family.
