Howard Ernest Lavalleur, age 76 of Monte Vista, Colorado passed away October 28, 2013 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born February 12, 1937 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Harry Eugene and Mae Irene (Singleterry) Lavalleur. Howard was raised and went to high school in Holdrege, Nebraska. After high school he worked at the Hotel Dale in Holdrege as a chef, and later owned the Green Lantern Cafe in Elwood, Nebraska. Howard also was the owner and operator of the Daylight Donut Shops in Sidney, Nebraska and Monte Vista, Colorado.
Survivors include his sons, Carroll (Sharon) Lavalleur of Lincoln and David (LaRae) Lavalleur of Winston Salem, NC; daughter, DeAnn (Tim) Myers of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren Curtis Lavalleur, Matt Lavalleur, Kate Lavalleur, Jenny Lavalleur of Lincoln, Nicole (Nick) Day of Walkertown, NC, Chelsea Lavalleur and fiancé John Peacock Jr of Denver, NC, Chris (Nastaran) Myers of Haymarket, VA, and Dustin Myers of Oklahoma City; great grandchildren Bryant and Carter Day of Walkertown and Aydin & Elina Myers of Haymarket; nieces and nephews; and special friend Marian Claunch of Monte Vista. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Earl, Richard and Wayne. Former wife, Karen.
Memorial services: Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln.
Private family interment at Fridhem Cemetery in Funk, Nebraska.
