Marion Ellen Rumbolz, age 84, of Lincoln was born in St. Paul, Nebraska on March 2, 1929. Her parents were George and Ethel (Collins) Deininger. After graduation from St. Paul High School, she attended the University of Nebraska where she received her B.S. degree in education in 1954. While at the University, she met Richard L. Rumbolz to whom she was married on June 7, 1958. Marion’s specialty was elementary education and she taught for a short time in California before returning to Nebraska to teach for many years in the Waverly and Lincoln Public School systems. She was a talented amateur artist and an active member and past president of the Lincoln Artists’ Guild. She and Richard traveled extensively and she enjoyed painting on their travels. Marion designed the logo for the Lincoln Artists’ Guild and won many awards for her art, the most recent being the People’s Choice Award at the 2010 LAG Seward Art Show.
Marion was a long time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dick, and survived by her brothers, Don (Florence) Deininger and Warren (Alice) Deininger, her sister, Dorothy (Darold) Jorgensen and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Wyuka Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Wyuka Cemetery.
