Irene L. Housel age 91 of Lincoln, passed away April 23, 2015. She was born February 17, 1924 in Valparaiso, Nebraska to Joseph and Rose (Vanicek) Patocka. Irene married Orville Housel on February 25, 1943 in Ceresco, Nebraska and at the time of his death they were married for 68 years. She worked as a packer at Russell Stover Candies for 20+ years and than became a dietician at the Lincoln Veterans Hospital for another 20+ years. Irene and Orville loved to go to casinos and really enjoyed flying to Las Vegas.
Survivors include their daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Larry Behm of Seward; Grandsons and spouse, Darren Behm; Dustyn and Kaci Behm all of Lincoln. Great grandson, Kyler Behm. Sisters, Margaret Cerra of Lincoln and Wilma Stastny of Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville. Her parents, one brother, Elmer Patocka and brothers-in-law, John Cerra and Jack Stastny.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 27th at Wyuka Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at Wyuka Funeral Home by 1:45 P.M.

I will miss Irene very much, I loved her deeply, Sandy and Margaret and all the family you will be in my thoughts and prayers. She will be greatly missed by all the staff at The Arbors.
I’m so sorry to read of Irene’s death. She was a great lady and a dear friend. Sandy this must be difficult but know, what a wonderful full happy life your parents shared. They are now together again in GODS loving care.I will keep you and your family in my prayers and thoughts. Connie PS.
