Randall Banks Sr., age 79 of Lincoln, passed away on June 16, 2015, at 6:55 p.m., at The Senior Village Nursing Home in Wilkesboro, N.C. surrounded by family. The beloved son of Edna Fowler White and Willie Banks, born Jan. 16, 1936, in Lamont, MS. He relocated to Gary, IN, to reside with his father, complete high school, and raise a family. A proud Veteran, he served in Korea before joining the workforce at Inland Steel.
Randall Sr., and wife Barbara, moved to Lincoln, NE after he devoted 37 years as a Steel Mechanic at Inland Steel Corp. in E. Chicago, IN. The dynamic duo settled in Lincoln and quickly became pillars to family, friends and church members. He was an Ordained Deacon at Christ Temple Church prior to his recent move to North Carolina.
Leaving to cherish memories: wife, Barbara, 61 years of marriage; sons, Randall (Claudia) Banks Jr. of Aurora, Co, Dennis Banks of Pleasantville, TX, Brian Banks of Aurora, CO, Austin (Mary) Banks of Wilkesboro, NC and Melvin Pennington of Hammond, IN; daughters, Valerie Mitchell of Aurora, CO and Rhonda (Rondell) Swope, of Aurora, CO; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services at 10:00 a.m. on June 26, at Christ Temple Church, 500 N. 25th St., Lincoln followed by Burial with Military Honors at Wyuka Cemetery, 3600 “O” St., Lincoln. Visitation will be held June 25, from 9:00 – 5:00 at Wyuka Funeral Home Chapel, 3600 “O” St., Lincoln. Rest on Uncle Randy we love & miss you. To our Family we wanna say you are in our thoughts & prayers as you lay to rest a great man of God just a thought he’s not gone cause he’s in your heart. I love you all and to my Auntie Barbara 61 years is a long time but keep on keeping on you served him well yes your gonna have your ups and downs but I know a man that can do anything but fail keep your head pointed towards the lord where all our come from the Lord. Pleased to share my condolences on behalf of Christ Temple Mission Church where Deacon and Sis. Banks served admirably. He will be missed for his dedication to the Lord; his wisdom and love for his family. Ever the coach and full of advice; Deacon Banks always had something to contribute to any conversation. He is now on the other side, in the place that His Lord prepared for him. And I’m sure that he has already heard, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
To my dear Pa Banks you will truly be missed. How you made us laugh will never be forgotten.
