William R. (Bill) Wood, 73, of Lincoln, passed away September 11, 2015.
Born Nov. 25, 1941 to Robert and Ruth (Collier) Wood in New Lexington, OH. Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1960-64. He married Ila Jean Shaw in Edgar, NE, in 1964 and they raised two children.
After nine years as a barber, he earned an Associate’s in Accounting and began a career in Agribusiness. He worked for Farmland, then Cenex Co-ops, becoming a manager, until retirement.
Survived by wife, Ila Jean; son, Kevin Wood of Valley; daughter, Amy (Grant) Rosenthal of Blair; grandson, Jacob Gleason of Valley; brother, Jim (Kaye) Wood of Junction City, OH; sister, Bonnie (Gary) Dunwoody of New Lexington, OH; brother-in-law, LaVern (Rose Mary) Shaw of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Rita (Adolf) Ohle of Republican City; brother-in-law, John Emmert of Somerset, OH; nephews, nieces and many other loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Emmert.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tues., Sept. 15, 2015 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Lincoln, NE. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church; burial will follow at Wyuka Cemetery, 3600 “O” St, Lincoln, with Military Honors.
