Barbara R. Smith

 

barb1Barbara R. Smith, 80, passed away on Nov. 11, 2015, at Crestview Manor, in Milford, Neb.Born April 7, 1935 in Nebraska City, to Gerald and Paula (Wood) Tiemann, as the oldest of four children.  She was married three times, the last to W. D. “Bill” Smith with whom she celebrated over 25 years of marriage before he passed away in approx. 2003.  She had 8 children, the first two were girls, followed by six boys.  She was a housewife and mother all her life.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents;  her husband, W.D. “Bill” Smith;  two sisters: Delores “Dee” and Judy;  and one granddaughter, Tracy.

She is survived by:  her eight children:  Bobbie Ann (& Tom) Campbell of Pawnee City,  Renee Cunningham of Hawaii, Jerry Cunningham of Nevada, Terry Cunningham of Lincoln, Robert Shelly of Oregon, John Shelly of Colorado, Mark Smith of Loveland, Col., and Joe Smith of Alaska;  eleven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, a brother Gary Tiemann of Casper, Wyo.; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service was held Mon., Nov. 16, 12:30 p.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home Chapel,

3600 “O” St., Lincoln, with the Rev. Lyle Schoen officiating.  Inurnment followed at Fairview Cemetery.

  2. I will always remember Barbara smiling and happy. She loved raising her children, and did her best to provide for them. May she rest in the loving arms of her mother, and know peace at last.

  4. Barbara was a very beautiful lady inside and out. She would always greet me with a big beautiful smile that would bring such sunshine to anyone’s day. I am truly glad I got the chance to meet such a wonderful women. Ill miss coming to visit with her.Barbara is truly home with the Lord now. May she rest at peace.
