Opal Mae Kettler, 88, passed away peacefully June 29, 2017. Born October 7, 1928 in Omaha, NE to Myrtle and Monroe Wiles she grew up on her parent’s farm near Weeping Water, NE. She attended Chilton Country School, Weeping Water High School, and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in biology. She then attended Bryan School of Nursing in Lincoln, NE becoming a Registered Nurse in 1951. In 1952, she married Anthony (Tony) Kettler in Omaha, NE and together they raised six children. Opal loved working outdoors and spent many hours tending her flower gardens. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and antiquing. She arranged many family trips and vacations while raising her family, and she and Tony travelled to several destinations around the USA in their retirement. Opal was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lois, brother Stanley and husband, Tony. Survivors: Children, Joseph A, Janice M, Thomas C Sr, (Rena), Teresa M Durrant Bachmann (Jim), Timothy A (Sally Cox), John F (Nanci); nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
