Cecil W. Van Eperen, born August 11, 1934 passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018.
Cecil worked in the baking industry until his retirement. He met many people, some of them developing into close friendships. Cecil enjoyed fishing, car races and his family. After becoming widowed, Cecil enjoyed spending time with his special friend Frances Schnepp.
Cecil is survived by his daughter Diane and son-in-law Jim Smith, sons Steve Van Eperen and Wayne Van Eperen and his special friend Glenda Ryan. Also survived by Conni Holloway, Rita Carman, Allen Hitz and Dwight Carter who always called him Dad. Survived by 4 grandchildren, Daniel B. Kramer, Rene’ (Joshua) Vinson, Ben (Melanie) Van Eperen, Jeff Van Eperen and his special friend Burgandie Coy, 3 great-grandchildren, Katelynn and Jake Vinson, Issac Van Eperen. Also, brother Ed Van Eperen and a sister Kathy (Bruce) Vokoun, brothers-in-law Harlan (Maria) Loshonkohl and Clarence Gunn, sister-in-law Margita Van Eperen. Many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, wife of 57 years Shirley and 4 brothers, grandson Kenneth and granddaughter Emma.
Services will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln, NE on Saturday, March 24th at 10:00 A.M. Visitation one hour prior to service.
So sorry to hear of the passing of Cecil. I worked with Cecil at rainbow bread and visited him many years later and was a great man and his son Steve was a classmate of mine. RIP Cecil and God Bless you.
