Robert W. (Bob) Zimmerman age 81 of Lincoln passed away February 20, 2019. He was born November 2, 1937 in Lincoln to Robert S. and Margaret J. (Walker) Zimmerman. He attended many schools in many cities and states in his schooldays, and graduated from High School at Enid High School in Enid, Oklahoma in 1957. Bob attended the University of Nebraska for a time, and took a job on the Railroad. He worked for BNSF Railway and its predecessor companies as an electrician for 41 years until his retirement in 1999. He spent 2 years in the U.S. Army in Germany 1960-1962. Bob was a member of American Legion Post #3 and St. Mark’s-on-the-campus Episcopal Church. He was a licensed Lay Eucharistic Minister in the Episcopal Church and retired from that ministry in 1999 when he retired from the railroad.
Survivors: Wife, Kathryn of Lincoln; Daughters, Mary Weber of Omaha and Sarah Bellows of Lincoln. Sister, Gaile Goodin of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Interment with military honors at Wyuka Cemetery.

I was very sorry to hear the news of your beloved father/husband’s passing. I did not find out until today, that I could leave my condolences here on this very special website, for your loss.
Although I regret not getting to spend more time with your father (my uncle), in my childhood, during the time I resided in Adams and Lincoln, NE; I nevertheless have incredibly good memories of him and how kind he was to me. I also, sent my heartfelt sympathy in the form of a special card to your Aunt/Sister-in-law Gaile Goodin of Shreveport (my mother). I am very relieved to be able to finally reach you with the same sentiments.
