Joe A. Gloria age 79, beloved father, step father, grandfather and great grandfather, of Lincoln formerly of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away February 7, 2020. He was born April 18, 1940 in McAllen, Texas to Joe A. Gloria and Refugia Baron. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a lineman for Nebraska Public Power.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mary G. Gloria, 8 children, 3 step-children, 22 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Socorro F. Flores and Lydia F. Garcia.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on February 22, 2020 at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on February 21, 2020 from Noon until 5:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Interment with military honors will be at Wyuka Cemetery.
He will be deeply missed.
Grandpa, thank you for supporting your family until they came into their own. You were always busy, always working hard. I’m going to miss you. Thank you, I love you.

Tio used to babysit for me when i was a little girl, as years passed I remember getting together with his sisters Tia Lydia & Lupita my mom. Today I got to see what my father looked like after fifty four years. I also learned that he was twenty two years and one week older than me. Another surprise was that he was in military. Not sure how to feel but the continued loss of at least knowing someone who was alive.

Even though there were miles between us,and missed years of knowing my dad, when I was younger I ventured out to seek out my dad,it was as I had hoped it would be. I met my other brothers and sister who had heard of us boys. Joseph,Yvonne,Anthony,and Chris,and step siblings Celia,Pablo,and Sam
Dad you did them proud as a father should.
Look down on us as we make our journey through life,and look after mom the best you can if at all possible.

I loved my uncle Joe he was a Funny guy an a joker. He loved to play jokes with his kids. They never knew is he was serious or joking. Like the time we got to see him, he called his daughter Yvonne to tell her we were their. She did not take him serious. But just in case she went. She was very surprised. He loved coffee an sweet bread with his coffee an 1 teaspoon of sugar. He loved when Mary made him food an fresh TORTILLAS. She was the best. I told him. Tio You are so BLESSED with Mary. As for me my TORTILLA GLOVES are in the museum. He just laughed, Tio you will be GREATLY missed. Father I came to finally visibly see you. Many years have gone by wondering, dreaming, and wishing to know you. I am only now getting to know why you were ripped from my life. As a young boy I wished for you as a young boy would. I know the pain you must have felt in losing us from my own to have your granddaughter’s in my life. At times I wished you would come and save me. I had heard grandma wanted to come to us but I only heard it once as a very young boy.
I must have been looking in all the wrong places to find you and mourning you now is doubly hard as meeting you I cannot hear your voice talking back. I met some of the family last night and years of pain seemed to slip away.
