Arthur Claypool Jr was born September 8, 1953 in, Karnak, Illinois to Viola and Arthur Claypool who both preceded him in death. The family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1960 where Arthur Jr, lovingly referred to as “Junior” by relatives (although he preferred/insisted on Arthur), attended Elliott, Elementary, Whittier and Irving Junior High Schools. He graduated from Lincoln High School.
Arthur Jr. was the fourth child born to Viola and Arthur Claypool. As a child he enjoyed the outdoors and loved the environment. Fishing was one of his favorite past times and was quick to take the lead on “fishing expeditions” with his 4 younger brothers in tow. As the oldest male child, he had the unique position of first “living doll” for his older sisters to enjoy… a role that continued well into adulthood! After graduating from Lincoln High, he moved to California settling in Los Angeles. He worked as a cook and continued to nurture his passion for cooking as a professional for many years. He remained in California until moving back to Lincoln 5 years ago.
Arthur Jr. is survived by his sisters Aquila Ellis of Lincoln, Lenora Pettaway and Myrthel Howard both of Florida, brothers D. Curtis Claypool of Texas, and Dale Claypool of Lincoln. He is also survived by his aunt Buelah Claypool of Lincoln and a host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Glen I. Claypool and Garry Claypool. Arthur leaves behind his two companion English bulldogs Murphy and Remington. May he rest in peace.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 27th from Noon until 4:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.

Uncle Arthur was the best uncle. I enjoyed the times that we spent together.
We all loved his cooking.
Last year he baked me my favorite cake. Chocolate decorated with dove candy.
It was really sweet, just like him. I
will miss him.and forever cherish his memory in my heart.
In closing I’d like to say “hug hug”.
Uncle Arthur gave the best hugs.
