Genevieve Elaine Kline, 92, of Lincoln passed away January 29, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born on April 28, 1928 in Humbolt, to Melvin L. and Gladys E. (Harshbarger) Taylor.
She married Charles E. Kline January 13, 1947 in Marysville, Kansas. Some of Genevieve’s hobbies include traveling and genealogy. She was a member of the Nebraska Mayflower Society.
Genevieve was a very loving person and enjoyed meeting and talking with people. She always has a smile on her face and would always welcome you into her home. She dearly loved her kitty Jake. Jake was her faithful companion after her husband passed and was truly missed when he was gone.
Genevieve thoroughly enjoyed researching the family trees of both her lineage and that of her husband’s. She was able to trace her family back to the Mayflower and John Hopkins. She also loved to travel and see the sites. Just getting out and driving around Lincoln to see all the changes then stopping for ice cream brought her joy.
She is survived by her sisters, Esther F. Pierce of Lincoln, NE and Nadyne H. Farrier of Wichita, KS; daughters, Angela K. Williams (Don) of Lincoln, NE, Patricia L. Hansen (Arlo) of Hebron, NE, Peggy A. Miller (Jim) of Aurora, CO; four Grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, One great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles E. Kline; brothers, Wayne L. Taylor of California and Richard L. Taylor of Colorado; grandson, Steven A. Hansen.
Graveside service took place at 2:00 p.m. February 2, 2021 at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, with Pastor Kerry O’Bryant presiding. Honorary Pallbearers included James Miller II, Duaine Miller, Heather Williams, Steven Hansen, Jimmy Crow, Gary Crow and Craig Nelson.
