Do
minic Richard Hughes age 21 of Lincoln passed away May 25, 2021. He was born April 5, 2000 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Jane (Nuss) Droud and Rick Hughes. Dominic had his struggles in life, but he will be remembered for his gifts. Dominic was funny, polite and upbeat. He had a soft heart, gave great hugs and was never afraid to tell his mom he loved her in public. Dominic was a loving and protective big brother and a good friend to many. No matter his transgressions, he was always loved and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his mom and step-dad, Jane and Don Droud, his dad Rick Hughes, brother Derrick and step-sisters, Mandi and Meagan. Uncle Jeff Nuss and cousins Micala, Cody and MacKenzie. Uncle Tom and Aunt Sher, Aunts Christy, Laurie and Jeannie plus numerous cousins in Lincoln and Omaha. Paternal grandparents Nick and Donna Kazos. Dominic is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Wyuka Funeral Home from Noon until 4:00 P.M.
Memorial service will be Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
My wife, Frieda and I, our hearts go out to you. We will have a prayer for you in the congregation tomorrow. A simple mention of Dominic’s tragic death will be made. No more needs to be known except that someone is grieving and in need of God’s comfort. I pray that the Lord will help your family find comfort in His arms.
