Austin Lee Allen age 60 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Tabitha in Lincoln.  He was born on February 14, 1952 in Lincoln, Nebraska to William E. and Emma (Hamlin) Allen. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  Austin was retired from the US Post Office where he was a mail handler from 1985 to 2000.  He was a member of the VFW and had served as a chaplain.

Austin is survived by his daughters, Rose Clauson of Lincoln; Michelle Allen of Lincoln; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Allen of Lincoln; sister, Sharon Allen of Beatrice.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Violet S. (Griggs) Allen on November 27, 2010; son, Kenny Allen; sister, Pam Leforce.

Cremation, no visitation.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. William Hunter officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
