tty Ottens age 79 of Lincoln, passed away April 2, 2021. She was born May 9, 1941 in rural Avoca, Nebraska to Walter and Clara (Berner) Rietsch. Betty graduated Lincoln School of Commerce with a business degree and worked for State Farm Insurance for 25 years before her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Shari (Ottens) Botelho and her husband Matt Carey, brother Roger Rietsch, adopted grandson Michael Ottens. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry Ottens and daughter Nicole Ottens.

I really enjoyed working with Betty for a few years. I helped take care of her at Clark Geary. She was a very kind, nice person. I helped with exercise, puzzle working, her hand from her stroke, plus she enjoyed decorating for every holiday. We went to Cedar Hill for decorations and to One More Time Consignment shop for clothing. She will truly be missed!
Shari, I will always remember how nice tour Mom was. She always was so very kind to me. May you find peace.
