CAROL J. CHASE, 68, of Lincoln, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital with family near, on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 10, 2015. Carol was born in 1946 in Springfield, MA to Harley and Priscilla (Clark) Cummings. She attended Holyoke College receiving her Associates Degree in Accounting. In 1981, she married Ray Chase in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they raised three children in Lincoln. Carol waitressed at the Village Inn locations on 29th and “O” and 66th and “O” Streets in Lincoln; and was an extremely committed Independent Contractor for the Lincoln Journal Star delivery routes for over 30 years. Carol was actively engaged in her church with Sunday School teachings, and secretarial work for many years. She enjoyed gardening, bible studies, fishing, camping; and most of all, her relationships with family and friends. Her strength, love and friendship will live on in the individuals she touched throughout her life.
Carol is survived by her children James Hartley, Belinda Fowler, and Rae Marie Erickson; siblings Judith Neill, Sandra Wood, and Douglas Cummings; grandchildren KayLee Hartley, Allison & Ryan Fowler, and Natalie and Abigail Erickson.
She is preceded in death, by her parents, her brother Richard Clark Cummings, second husband Billy Rex Vickers, and husband Almond Ray Chase.
Please come help celebrate Carol’s life and relationship with God at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6251 Colby St, Lincoln on Friday, Feb. 13 at 9:30 a.m. Burial and Committal will immediately follow at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, (Vine Street Entrance); with a Lunch Reception in Wyuka’s Garden Room following graveside services. There will be a Visitation Thursday, Feb. 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” St., with family present. Memorials to the family for later designation in Carol’s honor.
