Colleen Helen Anderson

August 23, 1948 – December 22, 2024

Colleen Anderson, born on August 23, 1948, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 76.

In 1972, Colleen married James Anderson, beginning a loving partnership that lasted over 3 decades until his death in 2004. James and Colleen were active in their churches; meeting and marrying at East Lincoln Christian, providing years of service to NorthSide Christian Church and finally finding a true church home at Pilgrim Christian Church in Omaha. Together, they raised two children, Patrick and Heather, who brought immense joy to her life.

Colleen found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for baking, often decorating cakes for the birthdays of friends and family members. For many years she baked weekly loaves of bread for her church’s communion service.  She also enjoyed immersing herself in the world of theater and crafting, where her creativity shone brightly.

Preceded in death by her husband Jim Anderson, parents Wayne and Helen Preston, and sister Tammi Preston.
Survived by children Heather (Robert) Miller and Patrick (Missy) Anderson. Grandchildren Henry Anderson and Beth (Tyler) Roetman.

Her warmth and talents left an indelible mark on those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 27 at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln. Colleen’s funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, December. 28, also at Wyuka. Committal service will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of The Brethren Holmesville Cemetery, S. 66th Road, Holmesville, NE, Memorials to the family for further designation.

  1. I will truly miss her. She was such a good friend very positive uplifting a genuine, loving individual. I have known her for so so many years we used to do Sunday schools together. She’s been there with me through thick and thin I will miss her greatly.
