S. Deloris (Cook) Morrison, formerly of Ainsworth, NE was born on February 17, 1920 to Charles and Ida Fern (Vargason) Cook, at Simpson, NE.  She passed away in Lincoln, NE on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the age of 92 years and 1 day. 

Deloris married Vernon Morrison on January 19, 1941 in St. Paul, NE.  This union was blessed with two sons, Kenneth M. Morrison and Larry V. Morrison.

Deloris lived most of her life in Brown and Rock Counties of Nebraska.  She graduated from high school at Newport, NE.  She loved the “Sandhills” and was proud of her roots from that area.  Her last 13 ½ years were spent in Lincoln, NE to be near her sons and their families.  She worked several years as a nurse aide in area hospitals and was a proud member of the Rebekah Lodge for over 70 years.   While in Ainsworth she enjoyed serving as a volunteer at the Brown County Hospital’s Thrift Shop.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Vernon; parents, Charles and Fern Cook, parents-in-law, Dewett and Ethel Morrison; siblings and spouses, Mildred (Cook) and Clifford Burt, Jim and Esther Cook; and brothers and sisters in-law, Fern (Morrison) and Rex Butler, Lloyd and Veronica Morrison, Ethel (Morrison) Veili, Willard and Helen Morrison, Phyllis (Morrison) McCrann, Victor Leonard and Marion Morrison.

She is survived by:   Ken (Pat) Morrison, Lincoln, and Larry (Cathy) Morrison, Omaha.  Grandchildren:  Mike (Krista) Morrison, Jeff Morrison and Ryan (Suzie) Morrison, all of Omaha, Marci (Scott) Craig and Lynn (Tim) Bornemeier, all of Lincoln.  Great-grandchildren:  Koby, Ian, Eli and Aubrey Morrison, Katie and Connor Craig, Cathy, Jeffrey and Madison Morrison, Easton and Logan Bornemeier and Reese, Seeley and Sophia Morrison.  Also surviving is sister-in-law, Mildred Leonard, Chadron, NE and brother-in-law, Willy Veili, of California plus a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Wyuka Funeral Home, Lincoln, with visitation from 9-11 prior to the scheduled service.  Graveside service will be in Ainsworth South Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012.
