Duane Kauk, age 79 of Lincoln passed away November 27, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was born June 23, 1936 in Sutton, Nebraska to Herbert and Wilhelmina (Reomich) Kauk. Duane served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed for over 20 years at American Stores, after that, working for the City of Lincoln and Molex Corporation. Duane was a member of the D.A.V. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, teaching them important life lessons and showing them how to be a kind person with a sense of humor but also with an ornery side. Duane will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, LaVae (Nelson) Kauk; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Mark Smith, Tammy and Kevin Chance all of Lincoln. Son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Daina Kauk of Lincoln. 8 Grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren. Sister, Arlene Frycek of Mesa, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Wyuka Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will start on Tuesday, December 1st from Noon until 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.

My dear Nelson-Kauk family, my heart is full of sadness because of Duanes passing . I know he’s in Heaven and I will see him again. I’m so thankful that I was a part of his life,so many great memories. Duane had a spirit that could make you feel like a million bucks! He brought sunshine on a cloudy day.He loved his wife and children so very much. He was one of those special people that you wanted to have in your life. Rest in peace my brother… My love to you all.
