Dear Marilyn, Nikki and Bob,
I read the obituary of George in the Sheridan County Star this morning and send my deepest sympathy. I was so saddened to read that my dear childhood friend, Nancy, has passed on. I have so many memories of her and have often thought of her through the years. My thoughts are with you all.

My wife and I rented an apartment from the Nutt’s when we were in college. We got married after our freshman year and the apartment on 1717 J Street down by the capital was our first home. We are from Cambridge and the first time we met George he started talking about the time he taught in the Arapahoe school system. Whenever he was around taking care of the apartment building I stopped to chat and say hello. This was back in 1990-91 have thought about that apartment and George over the years. He was a very friendly man and I enjoyed the privledge of getting to know him. Our prayers go out to the family.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Nutt. He was one of my favorite teachers at Culler Jr. High. I was also a student assistant of his. I am a teacher now and I share with my own students some of the great experiences that I had with him in junior high. I will always think of him when I think of my junior high years.

I was saddened to see the loss of Mr. Nutt. However, I also had a smile on my face of fond memories. He was my Junior High PE teacher many many years ago. He is only one of a few teachers I remember from then. He was a caring and decent man to all of us kids at that awkward age. Rest in Peace Mr. Nutt.

MY SIS E-MAILED ME ABOUT GEORGE’S DEATH. I HAVE SO MANY GOOD,HAPPY MEMORIES OF HIM. I’M SORRY WE HAVEN’T KEPT IN CONTACT; HOWEVER, DICK HARR KEPT US POSTED. OUR MANY YEARS STARTED IN 1953? DON/I SO ENJOYED BEING WITH THE LITTLE KIDS. AND MARILYN’S MOM/I TAUGHT TOGETHER IN LEX. GEORGE DID SUCH A GREAT JOB AT DON’S MEMORIAL. NIKKI, YOU WERE ONE OF DON’S FAVORITES AND YOUR DAD WAS DON’S BEST FRIEND. THEY HAD SOME GREAT STORIES. LIFE CONTINUES WITHOUT YOUR LOVED ONE, BUT THE MEMORIES KEEP YOU GOING. MY LOVE TO ALL OF YOU. I am was a secretary at Culler Junior High for 14 years. George was the very popular PE teacher during this time. George had a marvelous relationship with each of his students. My son Todd was one of his students. Todd had a slight eye impairment and George worked with Todd on his hand and eye coordination. He supplied us as parents with the tools to help Todd.

I know you will receive many wonderful “stories” about George in the coming days and weeks.

You are in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
