Harold Lee Mellick

April 21, 1947 ~ July 25, 2022

Harold Lee Mellick, 75, of Lincoln, passed away on July 25, 2022, at Lancaster Rehab. Visitation for Mr. Mellick will be at Wyuka Funeral Home from 9-11 A.M. with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 on Aug. 2, 2022. Pastor Dale Sutter will officiate. Burial will follow in Wyuka Cemetery and a reception will be held in Wyuka’s Garden Room following interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of Radiant Church of Lincoln.

Harold was born on April 21, 1947, in Wayne, Ne, to Carl and Grace (Miller) Mellick. Harold graduated from Wayne High School in 1965. He attended Wayne State College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969. Harold taught for a year in Schuyler, Ne and then received his Master of Arts-Adult Education in 1999 from the University of Nebraska.

Harold was employed at the University of Nebraska Lincoln – Division of Continuing Studies. He taught various math studies and had students from all around the world. Harold proctored both high school and college tests, meeting UNL athletes from various sports over the years. He retired from UNL in 2003 and was employed by Wal-Mart until 2013.

Harold had a strong Christian faith and enjoyed serving the Lord in various churches in different capacities. He enjoyed vacations, outings, fun activities with friends and family. Harold enjoyed Big Red football, and Rhubarb pie! He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor and smile.

He is survived by his Loving Wife, Belinda; Son Jeffery; Mother-in-law June Steinbrink of Holdrege; Brothers Jim of Omaha and Earl (Linda) Mellick of Norfolk; Sisters Joanne Furlong of Plattsmouth and Edith Choate of Tumwater, WA; Sisters-in-law Gail Kehr of Hastings, Judy and Marsha Steinbrink, and Tera Brening, all of Holdrege; Brother-in-law Michael Steinbrink of Omaha, as well as many nieces and nephews.

  1. Our heart hurt! we miss him so much and his laugh and orneriness !!!! Thankyou for allowing us the honor to care for him 6 years at Havelock Manor … he will always be close and dear to our hearts !!! Our deepest sympathy !!!

    • Thank you for all you did for my brother! I appreciate every act of kindness and know he did as well. He is w Jesus now and is in complete rest and comfort.
