Imogene (Jeannie) Dreith Bloom

Imogene (Jeannie) Dreith Bloom (Cave), age 89, of Lincoln, NE, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, in Lincoln, NE. She was born on November 18, 1934, in Lincoln, NE, to Jerome William Cave and Beulah Alice Cave (Horn).

Jeannie was the fifth of seven children and grew up in Havelock. She shared a close bond with her father, who always made sure she had a nickel to spend on Saturdays, and her sister, Betty, who was her constant companion. Jeannie eloped with Harry H. Dreith to Missouri, where they were married on February 6, 1954. They returned to Lincoln to set up their home and start their family.

Jeannie worked various jobs, notably at Cushman Motors and as a cafeteria cook for Lincoln Public Schools. In 1975, Harry was transferred to California, and they moved with their younger children, Laurie and Dean. Jeannie continued her career with the California Public Schools until her retirement. Tragically, Harry passed away in 1977 while visiting family in Lincoln. Jeannie returned to California and later owned and operated a bar in Rio Linda, CA, where she met and married her second husband, Noel Bloom. Noel passed away in 1999.

In 2003, Jeannie relocated back to Lincoln to be closer to her family. She cherished family gatherings, whether it was enjoying a coffee or the occasional beer while sharing stories from her childhood, her children, and memorable vacations. Jeannie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who brought joy and warmth to everyone she met.

Jeannie is survived by her brother, Robert Cave; her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Goldenstein; her children, Scott (Linda) Dreith, Michael (Linda Mueller) Dreith, Laurie (Tom) Brinigar, and Dean (Angela) Dreith; her grandchildren, Sunny (Mark) Detty, Christopher Dreith, Michael (Amy) Canarsky, Carrie (Ronnie) Williams, Jason Jones, Thomas (Nicole) Brinigar, Victoria Brinigar, Richard Brinigar, Deanna Dreith, Santana (Matthew) Koch, and Wayne Dreith; her great-grandchildren, Malachi, Collin, and Liam Detty, Alexandria Smelser, Kalab (Felisha) Canarsky, Zachary (Kelsey Campbell) Canarsky, Andrea Waggoner, Haley (Danpe) Coquat, Bradley Kilgore, Liam, Knox, Noah, Mia, Willow, Marshall and Cleopatra Koch, Wyatt Dreith; and her great-great-grandchildren, Lilly, Liam Smelser, Kasey, Chevelle, Oakland, and Dutton Canarsky.
