Jack and I were office neighbors on Wedgewood Drive for a number of years. We frequently shared our ideas about the world’s greatest problems. Sadly, the world never seemed willing to call upon our wisdom. But we both enjoyed our conversations and I believe we both felt supported in our shared viewpoints. I miss those days and look forward to resuming our conversations in the life to come.

Garry – you might not remember me, but I’m Sharon’s youngest cousin. Jack was a part of my life for so very many years. I truly loved him so much. Back in the early 1980’s, my husband and I traveled to England. We set it up so that Shari and Jack would have custody of our son, Garrett, if anything happened to us. We have always joked that Jack could have been Garrett’s dad and Liam’s grandpa. We will miss him so very much.

I’m not sure how they get distributed, but when I got you, Jack, as a big brother, I won the lottery. Jack, you loved me and treated me like I was your son and best friend, not just your brother. I suppose it could be possible to be closer as brothers, but I can’t imagine it. We seemed to share the same thought “line”. I have never know life without you, Jack. Your love, humor and care will last an eternity. I look forward to joining you and Mom in a much better, non-politicized existence. I know you are listening, Jack. I love you, admire you, and am forever grateful to you. Love, Garry

Jack was like a second father to me. My Dad, Dave Millar, and he were great friends since they were in high school. I always enjoyed listening to Jack’s stories of the crazy fun they had together. He had such a great sense of humor and always made everyone feel comfortable. We were fortunate to get to see him a couple times this past year with our daughter attending University of Nebraska. He never stopped smiling and cracking jokes. A great man that left an incredible legacy in his kids and grandkids.

I have know Jack since we were young kids. What I love the most about Jack was his friendship, our working together on a few of our high school class reunions, our many lunches and a person you felt you could talk to him about anything. One thing that really stands out was a night when the four of us went to a movie and Jack and I went to the concession for food. We both really didn’t like the movie and so we sat on the steps of the Stewart Theater talking about the up and coming reunion and how we were going to set it up and who to call. I know Jack is in a better place now and I hope someday to meet with him again. My prayers go out to Sharon and the family.
