James D. Gekas, age 80 of Wellington, Florida, formerly of Lincoln died August 27, 2011 in Wellington, Florida. He was born August 22, 1931 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Nick and Georgia (Dubas) Gekas. James graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was employed with K-Mart Corporation as an Executive Buyer.
Survivors include his wife Ruth of Wellington, Florida. Daughter and Son-in-law: Susan and Richard Moseley and their daughter Jillian of Boca Raton, Florida. Sisters: Mary Clark and Dena Wisbey both of Lincoln and one brother Theodore Gekas. He was preceded in death by his son James Michael Gekas, one sister, one brother and his parents.
Services will be held at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 950 N. 63rd St. Lincoln, Nebraska on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be at Wyuka Cemetery following the service at church.
Memorials may be left for the American Cancer Society.
