James Lairamore Shaw Sr., 80, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away January 15, 2025. He was born November 14, 1944, to John and Maudie Shaw in Calexico, California.

James alongside his wife was the bedrock of his family. He spent his life as a steadfast provider and partner to her. Together they built a life of simple joys surrounded by family.

James is survived by his 4 children, Rick, Shannon, Sherry and James Shaw Jr.; 57 grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Constance Hejl; and one brother, John Shaw.

May his loyalty, tenacity and strength live in the hearts of those he’s left behind.  Let it be those things that help them find closure now that he has been laid to rest with his wife.

A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 4:30 PM, Friday, January 24, 2025, at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers or anything else, donations be made to the Lincoln V.A. in appreciation for the sacrifices soldiers like James make daily in the line of duty.
