Johanna Genevieve Hesser age 93 of Firth, Nebraska went to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Lakeview Care Center in Firth. She was born on April 23, 1918 at Adams, Nebraska to Henry (Hank) and Tina (Terpsma) Hietbrink. She was a wonderful caring woman, a farm wife and homemaker all of her life. She taught her family many great values; to love Jesus, work hard, how to provide for your family through her love of gardening, cooking and baking.
Johanna is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Verl Mulder of Firth; Rowanna and Harlan Essink of Adams; Karen and Ronald Essink of Firth; Beth and Bruce Weber of Lincoln, grandchildren, Dennis and Gina Essink; Larry and Lois Essink; Brenda and Lonnie Jensen; Patty and Mike Peters; Connie and Ted Dlouhy; Rick and Wendy Essink; Rita and Scott Sieck; Matt and Nikki Weber; 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold on January 13, 1994, her sister, Thelma Mae.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Wyuka Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. with family present during this time. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. at the church.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. at the Pella Reformed Church, Hwy 43 and Pella Rd, Adams, Nebraska with Pastor Marcus Roskamp officiating.
Burial will be in the Pella Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Pella Reformed Church or Lakeview Care Center, Firth, NE.
Sorry to hear the passing of Johanna,though many miles away, my prayers and thoughts are with you.
She was like a second mom growing up, I have many fond memories. May she rest in peace.
