Lillian Lucille Marquardt, age 99 a resident of Jersey Ridge Place in Davenport, Iowa died on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the Trinity Pathway Hospice. She was born on July 23, 1912 in Syracuse, Nebraska to Lee and Lydia (Bro) Plumer. She attended high school at St. Mary’s Academy in Omaha, Nebraska graduating from St. Bernard’s High School in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Lucille attended the University of Arkansas in Texarkana, Arkansas. She married Thaddeus Vance in 1938; she later married John Marquardt in 1953. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her sister, Eleanor Zimmerer, brothers, Harold and Maurice Plumer and daughter, Lydia LeRoy.
Lucille is survived by her daughter, Eleanor (Robert) Budd and grandchildren, Rob (Jen) Budd, Anne (Tory) Hartwig, Jim Schnirl, Lynda Schnirl, John LeRoy and eight great-grandchildren. Lucille resided in Nebraska City and Lincoln for many years before moving to Davenport, Iowa in 2008 to be close to her family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Wyuka Cemetery.
