Lorain D. Krueger, 93, passed away on November 16, 2024 in Lincoln, NE. He was born on August 10, 1931 in Elk Creek, NE to Carl and Katherine (Katie) Krueger.
He was the youngest of 6, grew up on the Krueger Farm in Elk Creek, NE. He went to Beethe Country School, Elk Creek High School and graduated from Peru State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He worked on the farm then married his high school sweetheart Joan in 1953 and they created a beautiful family together for 71+ years. He taught and coached in Elk Creek, Brock and Tecumseh before moving to Lincoln, NE. He was a salesman then started his own business, Krueger Painting, then retired at age 86. He was a grandchild of a Pastor, grew up knowing Jesus, was baptized and confirmed. He was a lifetime Lutheran church member. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict Era and Peacetime serving as a tank commander from 1952 to 1959 in the 195th tank battalion. Faith and Family was the most important to him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Huskers, sports, travel and playing cards. He was a member of Christ Lincoln Church for 48 years, the Veteran’s Club and American Legion.

Grandchildren: Matt (Amber) Bremer, Monica (Mark) Gray, Kayla (Neil) Thompson, Christine (Derek) Anderson, Collin (Roni) Papuga, Cara (Dustin) Lepak, Terri Krueger, Alyssa (Tyler) Krueger
Great Grandchildren: Cade, Calla, & Caleb Anderson, Carson & Beckham Gray, Coree & Cameron Lepak, Paxton & Reese Bremer, Harper & Kendall Thompson, Ayla Krueger, River & Fisher Papuga
Special Grandpup: Zara Krueger
He was preceded in death by Parents Carl and Catherine Krueger, Grandson Nathan Krueger, Siblings Clem Krueger, Glen Krueger, Luetta Morrissey, Leona Hall and Leland Krueger.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 4:00-6:00PM at Wyuka Funeral Home 3600 “O” St, Lincoln NE. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30AM, Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Christ Lincoln Church, 4325 Sumner St, Lincoln, NE 68506. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at 1:45PM, Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln.

He went into Jesus’ loving arms in heaven at 6:32PM after the Hunters Full Moon on opening day of deer season once the Nebraska football game ended surrounded by his wife, five children and family. KNH2410 Over and Out.

Thoughts and Prayers to Joan and Family. I had Lorain for American History Class in Tecumseh High School. I graduated in 1963, and we were friends after that. He came to some of our 1963 class reunions for visits.
