Loren Francis Burmeister

Loren Francis Burmeister, 92 of Lincoln passed away January 1, 2025. He was born August 1, 1932, in Pender, Nebraska to Otto and Violet (Larson) Burmeister.  Loren could fix anything with great talent and patience. He was sharp-minded and had a great sense of humor. He worked for Willow Springs delivering soda pop, moved on to a job in RCA T.V. Repair and eventually onto x-ray service until his retirement in 1994. He loved to tinker in his workshop. Loren developed a successful small engine repair business after he “retired”. He also loved spending time fishing.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Cindy and Bob Wenzl, Valerie and Todd Nelson all of Lincoln.  Son and daughter-in-law Brent and Jolene Burmeister of Lincoln.  Grandchildren and spouses Ryan and Tara Kortus, Jennifer Kortus, Patrick Burmeister, Allison and Jordan Atkinson, Zachary Nelson, Bailey and Jace Bowhay, Mattie Wenzl, Nate Wenzl and Jason Wenzl.  Great grandchildren, Ivy Kortus, Taylor Atkinson, Vivian Atkinson, Grayson Velder, Lucas Wenzl, Raegan Wenzl, Olivia and Calum Bowhay.  Nieces and spouses, Renee and Mike Moore, Judy Torbert, Marcia Zierke.  Nephews and spouses, Glen and Fern Albracht, Craig and Kathy Albracht, Jim and Michelle Wriedt. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents; sister, Yvonne Albracht; sisters-in-law Margaret Lunz and Ellen Wriedt.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Wyuka Funeral Home with viewing 1 hour prior. Visitation the day before the service, Tuesday, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Wyuka. Memorials to the family for later designations.

  3. I have known Loren for many years as the trusty, competent X-ray Repair Professional. He always got us back up & running in the X-ray Department & kept the equipment in good working order. He handled each situation with calm & skill. I also had the honor & pleasure to interact with Loren after his “retirement” as an X-ray patient of mine. Glad I had that opportunity to serve such a kind, caring person.
