July 26, 1933 – May 5, 2023

Margaret Ann Ostwald, 89, passed away under the loving care of The Monarch on Friday, May 5, 2023. Born July 26, 1933, to John and Ora (Cave) Mutchie. She married Marvin (Ozzie) Ostwald in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 23, 1955. She was a devoted Catholic and member of Blessed Sacrament, a dedicated mother to her 3 children, and an avid crossword puzzler. Always carrying herself with grace and class, she shared her kind heart with everyone she met. Margaret was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2020 but continued to be a ray of sunshine for those around her until the end.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 68 years, Marvin (Ozzie) Ostwald; sons, Marvin and Mick Ostwald of Lincoln; daughter, Melanie Ostwald-Hruby (Mitch) of Lincoln; sister, Janet Larchick (Stan) of Lincoln. She had 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers; sisters-in-law; 3 sisters; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews. Margaret’s family extends a sincere and gracious thank you to the staff of The Monarch for their compassion and care for Margaret during her final chapter.

A celebration of Margaret’s life will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln, with Father Kipper officiating. There is a viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and a luncheon will follow the service. A private cremation service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and flowers can be sent to the Wyuka Funeral Home.
